GDPR This is a new law updating older legislation 0n personal data protection. It is due to come into force on 25th May 2018. Myself and our Secretary are still establishing how this will effect us. So until we are sure we are compliant ( there are large fines for non compliance ) I have decided not to mention members by name. We will have to produce a written policy document on how we will control data which I will include on the web site in due course. WebMaster. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGOur Annual General meeting was held on March 6th 2018 at the Ship Inn as usual.The following is a brief report on the meeting ;-FINANCEIncome from Birthday parties, rides and membership fees increased our bank balance slightly. however, there were a number of significant capital expenditures on materials and new equipment which have reduced the balance below last year. These accounts were voted on and accepted as correct by the members. The accounts will be presented to Company House in due course.SECRETARIES REPORTOur secretary read out the meetings from last year and they were accepted by the members as a true record.CHAIRMANS REPORTOur chairman thanked our ex chairman for his help during the last year and reported on advances the society has made over the last year.He stated his commitment to advancing the society and increasing our membership. Advancements made over the last year are as follows ;-A new vertical milling head as been purchased and has been fitted to a horizontal milling machine which was very kindly donated to us.An ESR32 collet chuck and collets have been obtained to make it fully usable.Laser cur materials have been purchased to complete the body of the new diesel locomotive.Materials have been obtained to fabricate the 7 ¼ steaming bays.An electric hydraulic pump has been fitted to the turntable for ease of use. ( Just press up or down ) The society now has a 48inch cut width ride on lawn mower which is in regular use. This has greatly eased the chore of grass cutting.The grass cutting are being composted in a contained area constructed from pallets.We were very kindly donated a Colchester student lathe which along side of the milling machine is now fully available for members use.The edges of the raised track rails is being ground and polished into a more acceptable radius to protect locomotive wheels.This is now about 50% complete. GENERALPlease Note we would like to take as many fully are part built models to the Doncaster exhibition. Let our Chairman now ASAP what you are taking as we have to fill in the details and submit it to the organizers.
